Fenchurch Advisory Partners, the investment banking advisory boutique
specialising in financial services, is pleased to announce that Simon
Thompson is joining the firm as a Director.
Simon joins Fenchurch from UBS Investment Bank where he was an Executive
Director in the Financial Institutions Group. He has extensive advisory
and capital markets experience, particularly involving the insurance sector.
At UBS, Simon also had primary responsibility for leading coverage of
private equity relationships for the financial services sector. Prior
to UBS, Simon qualified as a Chartered Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
This is the second significant recent addition to the senior team at Fenchurch
following the appointment of Vincent Bounie who joined as a Director from
Morgan Stanley in January. In addition to these appointments, Fenchurch
has also recently recruited several associates and analysts from leading
investment banks.
Commenting on the appointments, Malik Karim, Managing Director of Fenchurch
said:
“Simon and Vincent are proven and established bankers who reinforce
our capabilities in insurance and asset management. The universe of credible
advisers to the financial services sector has shrunk whilst the industry
experiences fundamental structural and regulatory change. We anticipate
a significant increase in demand for M&A and corporate finance advice
from sector participants.”
